School Site Council

La Cuesta and Alta Vista School Site Council

Each school in our district must have an elected School Site Council (SSC) to represent our parents, students, community members, and school staff in the school governance process. The SSC has a number of important responsibilities, to include:

  • Helping develop the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the school site budget
  • Monitoring the implementation of the SPSA and budget
  • Review data about our school and reflect on how our school is doing to support student success.
    • Academic assessments, such as CAASPP and STAR
    • Attendance
    • California Healthy Kids Survey
    • Title I funding for La Cuesta
  • Based on that data, the Council set goals and identify priorities for the next school year
